LINTEL is a lightweight galvanised steel component, bent to shape to accommodate a brick wall. The lintel ranges from lower to higher capacity with the increment of flange height and thickness. It is specifically designed to support brickwork above window and door openings and replaces a conventional concrete lintel. As the component is light in weight and has a high load-bearing capacity, it is easy to install and construction speed can be increased. The galvanised product finish improves corrosion resistance. 90º internal corners are usually the most difficult alignment aspect during wall plastering. Calaba has developed the Inner Bead to counter this problem. The Inner Bead is designed to give a perfect 90º straight and sharp internal corner, regardless of whether the walls meet perfectly at the corner. Due to its self-aligning characteristic, it makes plastering of internal corners easier and more efficient, saving both time and money.

TILE TRIM is specially designed to provide smooth chamfering at the corners of tile. Tile is a non-homogeneous material, making it extremely difficult to chamfer off neatly at the 90 degree corner. It comes in numerous colour selections to either blend or contrast with your tile’s colour theme.

Apart from the conventional round shaped PVC tile trim, K.U.S has newly developed the PVC square and our first ever stainless steel wrapped PVC tile trims, which come in grade 304 and 316 in round and square shapes. Stainless steel and brass wrap over a PVC structure, with flexibility in height due to adjustable flanges. This is an economical and elegant floor and wall trimming, with uses such as parquet to parquet and parquet to tiles.

TILE SPACER is a small cross-like or A-shaped piece which is used to space tiles apart in equal distances. Spacers are used to accomplish a well-installed and attractive tile arrangement on floors, walls or countertops. Placing the tile spacer between tiles creates uniform grout lines when tiles are laid, which contribute to an overall neat and proportional appearance of the installed tiles. Spacers allow more precise alignment of individual tiles and a higher degree of accuracy during tile installation. They can also significantly speed up the work, because spacers eliminate the guess-work in tile placement.

CORNER BEAD reinforces exterior stucco or plaster corners with durable, straight and rust free vinyl corners. Our vinyl corner bead is specially manufactured with striation and perforation along the flanges, which provides positive bonding when they are attached, and of stucco to the product. It becomes part of the building structure and moves along with the walls, but does not freely express its coefficient of expansion or contraction.

Corner beads are available in 3 main versions: sharp edge for fine corners, smooth edge, and bull-nose edge for soft corners.

The CRL series corner bead can perform multiple functions, with adjustment for angles constrained by narrow corners, walls with acute and obtuse angles and curves for most construction radius.

D RIP LINE and the Corner Bead have been integrated into a single ingenious product. As a result, both straight corners and the groove for drip line can be achieved in a single plastering procedure. To cater for a broader range of applications, we specially designed our Drip Line in 2 sizes, one for the window ledge (DL-1310), which has a shorter distance between the window frame and the edge, and the other catering for a normal ledge.

Our Drip Line was produced with Benzotriazole, an ultra violet (UV) resistant chemical additive that gives protection from discolouration.

GROOVE JOINT is used to provide distinctive architecturally pleasing breaks on any stucco wall surface. Chamfered and vaulted reveals are an improvement over standard U shaped stucco reveals. Not only does this give a more appealing look to the design, it also improves the mechanism for stucco embedding and enhances the bond between the stucco and joints to reduce separation at these locations.

PLASTER STOP is able to terminate plaster or stucco works. Calaba’s series of Plaster Stops includes 6mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm and 35mm to create skirting along the wall, grooves on the ceiling, window and door jambs, as well as addressing the juncture of dissimilar materials.

The specially designed L-shape angle edge trims (without back flange) are to provide better alignment to the intersections during installation and the edge avoids the occurrence of cracks in the wall . The vinyl is not fire hazardous, and does not support combustion after a flame source is removed. Vinyl products also solve related problems such as static electricity, electrolysis, rust, oxidation, and excessive dents, kinks or damage in transit or on the job site.

BONDING BAR is made of hot-dipped galvanised steel and used at the joint connection between brick walls and concrete members so as to minimise cracks along the joints. Our production specifications exceed BCA’s requirement of hot dipped galvanisation with minimum average coating mass of 460g/m² or equivalent thickness of 64 microns, in accordance with BS EN 1461. The Lipped Frame also provides greater flexibility in positioning the Bonding Bar to facilitate brick-laying. The Bonding Bar should be installed at every 4th course of brick layers.

FRAME TIE AND BRICK TIE are made of galvanised steel, which comes with perforated and corrugated shapes for good bonding strength. These Ties are normally installed vertically at every 4th course of the brick wall to provide a connection between brick wall and structural member, transfer load and restrain material movement.

HOLD FAST is widely used where there is a requirement to join together two different materials, such as the joint between a concrete or timber structure and a brick wall. Many contractors prefer to use Hold Fasts instead of conventional cast-in columns, as they are easy to install and time saving.
